Hedgepath constantly explores all kinds of music, including jazz, folk, funk, Western swing, Reggae, Country, Bluegrass as can be seen in his recorded work and live performances.
Collaborations
Through he’s career, Hedgepath, strives create music with his friends and heroes. Along the way he’s appeared live or recorded with: Blueground Undergrass, Col. Bruce Hampton, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Jeff Sipe, Yonrico Scott, Kofi Burbridge, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Nicky Sanders, Marcus King, Peter Rowan, Curtis Burch, Bloodkin, Matt Reynolds, Jimmy Herring, Micky Raphael, Randall Bramblett and many more.
Hedgepath holds a weekly residency at Smileys Acoustic cafe hosting local, regional, and national artists. Hedgepath is a member of The Work, The Bad Popes, The Shady Recruits, Simple Syrup, and plays a variety of solo and combo performances. Check calendar and follow and social media to see what’s next!
Recordings
Out of this odyssey have come three solo albums.
- Hedgepath’s Christmas CD called “We Three Kings,” which features Yonrico Scott (from the Derek Trucks Band) and keyboard legend Ike Stubblefield.
- “Instruments of Peace” is musical journey all its own that spans many American genres. On it you’ll hear 21 talented musicians, including Grammy winners and nominees such as Kofi Burbridge and Jeff Sipe.
- “Spirituals,” has been described as “12 tracks of soul-stirring grace that take you back to the last time you were moved by music.”

Charles Hedgepath is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist
and producer based in the Upstate of South Carolina.
Hedgepath has spent the last three decades performing and
recording in the southeastern United States and beyond.
Hedgepath has appeared live or recorded with multiple
Grammy winners and nominees including Greenville, SC native,
Marcus King, Nicky Sanders (Steve Martin & Steep Canyon
Rangers) Mark Bryan (Hootie & The Blowish), John Keane
(Widespread Panic & REM). Hedgepath’s songwriting with
writing partners Marcus King and Mike Runyon (Marcus King
Band) has produced millions of streams and counting while his
own music has been used on such programs as Watch What
Happens Live with Andy Cohen and French comedy Fais pas
ci, fais pas ca.
Over the last decade Hedgepath has worked in Music
Distribution representing various catalogs through multiple tier
one distribution companies. Managing a multitude of products
through all aspects of the music distribution process including
his own work gives Hedgepath a unique skill set for producing
and distributing all forms of musical content with additional
experience in comedy content having distributed content
created by comedy legends such as The National Lampoon,
Carrot Top, and Ralphie May. Hedgepath most recently has
stepped into the world of video content creation and
distribution taking advantage of similar skills and relationships
gained through Music creation and distribution, extending
them into the universe of television, film and stand up comedy.
Hedgepath has a passion for hands on community involvement
working with local and national organizations to address
multiple issues. He serves as Music Director at Triune Mercy
Center in Greenville, SC and has worked with organizations
such as Ronald McDonald House of Greenville and Upstate Splash
Charity. In the later portion of the 2010’s Hedgepath formed a
local chapter for Soldier, Songs, and Voices which has since
released it’s own music and promotional mini documentary
along with cofounded effort that Marcus King champions, The
Curfew Foundation, which has been featured in Billboard and
Relix Magazine.
